    What's Happening, Everyone?

    Hi Everyone,

Things have been kind of quiet in this category for a while now.  Wuz up wi dat???

This was always my favorite category because we could talk about anything in here... and most people have a lot on their minds other than the cleaning business.

    So talk talk talk....

Not much going on here except:

A "friend" stole my husband's truck and tools.  He is still at large with a felony warrant.  Last we heard of him was a "sorry" letter postmarked in Florida.

My husband and I are finishing up plans for our trip to Disney in December.  The kids have NO idea we are going.  :)  We will be there for a week.

I don't want to jinx myself, but I may have a government job as a NASA contractor working in Houston in the near future.  That's what I did before getting in this business...it fell in my lap because a doctor I worked with in DC called me up asking if I would consider relocation and the job.  It took me by surprise.

I lost a lot of weight and gained a good amount of muscle.  That's kept me out of trouble for the most part.  LOL

And, the script for the movie is being finalized.  It is in the producer's hands.  Yay!  Now I just wait to see if they greenlight the project.

What is everyone else up to?

Congrats, Torrey! You'll be relocating near my old stomping ground. I lived there for 33 years. Lots to do out there. I'm sure you'll love it. If you need information about schools and neighborhoods, I know them all very well and can point you in the right direction.

No news here. Just been managing the biz as usual. It was heck moving into the new house and trying to manage the company at the same time. Wore my a$$ out, lol. It's time for a vacation. ;)

Thanks,Hazel.  It's a bit early to consider this a done deal, but if it keeps moving in the right direction you can bet I will be asking LOTS of questions!  I am just concerned about living in "Bush" country being the liberal that I am.  LOL

So are you all settled in the new house yet?  That's one thing I don't enjoy:  MOVING.

    Tailored Maid Services:

I am just concerned about living in "Bush" country being the liberal that I am.  LOL

I lived there when he was governor, and he did to Texas exactly what he's now done nationwide. I begged everyone I knew NOT to vote for him. LOL. It was no use, of course. Governor Ann Richards was the incumbant at that time. She was AWESOME to say the least, but she had ticked off too many of the republican good ol' boys and they basically undermined her in every way imaginable, similar to the smear campaign against Hillary. Of course, the "average" middle-class Texan LOVED Ann Richards. She was one smart lady.

Anyway, the republicans managed to take over congress and shift the democrats out of control... one thing led to another... and the dufus W became the next governor of Texas... trust me, it all went downhill from there and was one of the reasons I left Texas. Same types of problems we face now, just on a smaller scale. Ann once said of George W. Bush, ""Poor George. He can't help it! He was born with a silver foot in his mouth." LOL!!!

As far as getting settled into the new house, it has been a lengthy process to say the least. I still do NOT have my kitchen unpacked, lol. Still eating on paper plates because my OCD self wanted to add some organization to the cabinets... all that kitchen organizing stuff. I make myself so mad at ME sometimes, sheesh. Now I've started a project that I don't have time to finish. I just hope I can finish before CHRISTMAS.

My kitchen is organized and I still eat off of plates I can throw away when my meal is finished.  LOLOLOL!   For someone who cleans like the dickens, I sure do avoid it enough...

Well Hazel, the job in Houston just wasn't meant to be.  I am actually a little relieved.  LOL

One thing I had been working on (besides the movie) is now coming to fruition.

DH and I had the pleasure of working with Children's Television Workshop to help create some episodes for Sesame Street and served on their parent panel of "experts" that dealt with combat injuries.

    Read more here: http://www.military.com/military-report/se...pecial-02-09-09

Sesame Workshop will air a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) special on April 1, 2009 that is aimed at helping military families cope with changes. Actor/singer Queen Latifah and singer John Mayer will join Elmo to present, "Coming Home: Military Families Cope with Change." The special carries a message for children whose parents suffered a physical or psychological wound in combat. The half-hour special, which will air at the beginning of the "Month of the Military Child," is a part of Sesame Workshop's "Talk, Listen, Connect" initiative, which began two years ago. The special is scheduled to air Apr.1 at 8 p.m. EST. Please check your local listings for the exact air time in your area.

The first episode we helped create was "Changes": http://archive.sesameworkshop.org/tlc/

I just thought I would share my "latest" adventures.

Torrey, I've been waiting for an update from you, figuring you've been up to something unusual as usual,.. and it's a Sesame Street special... what a good one that will be too. :) That is so totally cool!!! I've got to watch it, hee hee.

Well, I won't ask about the Houston job since it's already water under the bridge... but as they say, when one door closes another one opens. :)

I would love to have a cool adventure to share right back with you but I don't. How about a nightmare instead, lol? I've spent the last 2 months at my father's bedside in ICU/Rehab ... checked into hospital 2 days before Christmas with walking pneumonia... then he ticked off the nurses (Archie Bunker style), so they sedated his a$$... ONLY they over sedated him to the point at which his lungs collapsed, causing complete respiratory failure which in turn caused complete renal failure. He stayed on life support for 2 weeks at rinky dink hospital... all systems down except for brain functioning...they pulled the plug... he lived almost 24 hours then died, again...I said put that fricken plug back in!!! Then I told them to KMA that I wanted him transferred to a real hospital that had real doctors... got him transferred to top 100 hospital... then 1 more week of life support... then he finally rose from the dead... a week of tests, test, and more tests, then it was on to rehab to learn how to walk, talk, write, etc. I just took him home. He's on dialysis now 3x/week for 4.5 hours each visit. I got back home and my pup forgot who I was!!! Kids still remember though... they're like uh-oh, she's baaaack! LOL.

Ohhhhh Hazel!  I am soooo sorry to hear of all of traumas that you have had to endure lately.  I will pray for your fathers full recovery.  Thank God you got your way and requested his transfer to another hospital.

Oh my goodness, Hazel.  You've been through the wringer haven't you?  I am so sorry to hear about your father but I am relieved you were there to help him get through this.  I am sure that was quite a stressful situation.  I will pray for your father's full recovery and that YOU get some much-needed down time to recover too.

Keep us posted and let me know if I can help in any way.
